Important Note:
Applications for a change of visa type are only accepted if the applicant’s stay in Thailand does not exceed 90 days and there are at least 15 days remaining on the current permitted stay. Applications submitted beyond this timeframe will not be accepted.
Application Form
Form TM.86 – For foreigners currently holding a Tourist Visa or Transit Visa
Form TM.87 – For foreigners without a visa, including those who entered under Phor.15, Phor.30, or Phor.90
Copy of Passport
Including the personal information page, visa stamp, entry stamp, any extension of stay stamps (if applicable), and the TM.6 departure card.
Photograph
One recent 4 x 6 cm or 2-inch photo (front-facing, without a hat, taken within the last 6 months).
Official Fee
2,000 THB (payable at the time of application).
5.1 Letter of Request
Issued by the President of the educational institution, requesting a change of visa type.
Addressed to: The Commander, Immigration Bureau
5.2 Supporting Letter
From a department-level government agency under the Ministry of Education, the Provincial Governor, or the Educational Service Area Office (for institutions below higher education level).
Addressed to: The Commander, Immigration Bureau
5.3 Academic Documentation
A copy of the applicant’s educational records or transcript, and the most recent tuition payment receipt
6.1 Letter of Request
Issued by the President of the higher education institution, addressed to the Commander of the Immigration Bureau
6.2 Supporting Letter
From a department-level government agency under the Ministry of Education, the Provincial Governor, or the Educational Service Area Office (for institutions below higher education level).
Addressed to: The Commander, Immigration Bureau
6.3 Certification from Institution Head
A letter issued by the School Director or International Program Manager, supporting the visa type change request
6.4 Institution License
A certified copy of the license to establish the educational institution
6.5 Administrator Authorization
A certified copy of the license designating the educational institution's administrator
6.6 Applicant’s Academic Documents
A copy of the applicant’s educational qualifications
Applicant Documents:
Must be signed and certified by the applicant on every page.
Institutional Documents:
Must be signed and certified by an authorized representative of the institution and stamped with the institution’s official seal on each page.
