90-Day Reporting Requirement for Foreign Nationals

A foreign national who has been granted temporary residence in the Kingdom of Thailand is required to report their current address to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days if they remain in the country continuously for that period.

If there is a local Immigration Office in the area where the foreign national resides, the report may be made at that office.

This requirement is in accordance with Section 37(5) of the Immigration Act, B.E. 2522 (1979).

Methods of 90-Day Reporting

Foreign nationals may report their stay in Thailand through one of the following methods:

1. In-person reporting
   The foreign national reports directly at the Immigration Office.
   
   

2. Reporting by authorized representative
   Another person may be authorized to submit the necessary documents on behalf of the foreign national.
   
   

3. Reporting by registered mail
   A 90-day notification may be submitted via registered postal mail. (Please ensure that all required documents are included.)
   
   

4. Online reporting
   Reporting can also be completed through the official online notification system, available on the Immigration Bureau’s website.

Important Notice for 90-Day Reporting

Foreign nationals permitted to stay in the Kingdom temporarily must report their residence to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days, in accordance with Section 37(5) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522.

Reporting Timeline

• Residence notification can be made within 15 days before or up to 7 days after the due date.
  
  

• If the reporting period has been exceeded beyond this grace period, the foreign national must report in person and will be subject to a fine.
  
  

• The fine for late reporting is 2,000 THB.
  
  

• In the event the foreign national leaves the Kingdom before the next reporting date, the 90-day count will restart from the date of the most recent re-entry into Thailand.
  
  

Additional Notes

• The 90-day residence notification does not serve as a request to extend stay in the Kingdom.
  
  

• Failure to report within the designated timeframe will result in a fine of 2,000 THB.
  
  

• If a foreign national is found to be in violation of the reporting rule during an inspection or arrest, the fine will be 5,000 THB.
  
  

• After departing the Kingdom, the 90-day period resets from the date of re-entry, regardless of previous reporting.
