Extending a Tourist Visa in Thailand

If you're enjoying your time in Thailand and wish to stay longer, a Tourist Visa extension allows you to remain in the country beyond the initial period granted by your visa stamp. The process is generally simple and typically grants an additional 30 days to your stay.

Who Should Consider a Tourist Visa Extension?

• Tourist Visa Holders: Travelers who entered Thailand with a Tourist Visa (either single or multiple-entry) and want to extend their stay beyond the initial 60 or 90 days.
  
  

• Visa on Arrival Holders: Visitors who entered Thailand under the Visa on Arrival scheme and wish to extend their visit.
  
  

Required Documents

To apply for a Tourist Visa extension, you’ll need the following:

• Passport: Your original passport, valid for at least 6 months, with a current Tourist Visa.
  
  

• TM7 Form: A completed visa extension application form, available at Immigration Offices, online, or at our office.
  
  

• Photograph: One recent passport-sized photo (4x6 cm).
  
  

• Proof of Residence: Documentation of your current address in Thailand, such as a hotel booking, rental agreement, or a TM30 form if staying with a friend or relative.
  
  

How to Apply

1. Visit the Immigration Office: We'll accompany you to the nearest Thai Immigration Office.
   
   

2. Submit Your Application: Present your passport, completed TM7 form, and all necessary documents to the immigration officer.
   
   

3. Pay the Official Fee: The extension fee is 1,900 THB.
   
   

4. Processing Time: In most cases, your extension will be processed the same day. A new stamp will be placed in your passport, indicating your extended stay period.
   
   

Important Notes

• Overstay Penalties: Failing to extend your visa on time will result in a fine of 500 THB per day, up to a maximum of 20,000 THB. Overstaying may also impact your eligibility to re-enter Thailand in the future.
